Blossom Music Center
The Blossom Music Center is just the perfect place for a perfect evening or a family time out. It is an an amphitheatre located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra, which performs its annual Blossom Festival there. The venue is also host to a full summer schedule of popular music acts, symphonic performances and music festivals. The site’s natural parabolic setting, which distinguishes it from other contemporary amphitheatres, is beautiful and relaxing too.
The Center is located in a serene environment, on 800 acres of natural woods in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, about 10 miles north of downtown Akron and about 33 miles south of downtown Cleveland. It lies within the city limits of Cuyahoga Falls, one of the earliest Ohio communities.
The seating capacity of the pavilion can accommodate up to 5,700 people. The expansive hillside lawn sitting area also has a capacity for another 13,500 patrons.
The Blossom pavilion is located at the heart of Blossom, just at the base of a natural bowl. The pavilion and lawn settings are great, with good sightlines. The pavilion’s seating is covered, while lawn is opened up. The blossom ground that surrounds the pavilion comprises a whole lot of unique facilities. They include the Porthouse Theatre Company, the Bandwagon Gift Shop, the Blossom Grille, the Knight Grove party centre and the Eells Gallery, where regional and national artworks are exhibited. There are adequate rest room facilities too. There are also beautifully designed gardens located on the main grounds; The Frank E. Joseph Garden, Emily’s Garden and The Herbert E. Strawbridge Garden. There is premier parking at just a little extra cost, just in case the free parks are filled.
The Blossom Music Center provides a warm and welcoming summer home for The Cleveland Orchestra since it opened in 1968. The beautiful settings make the blossom experience down to earth, more than just a feeling. The lovely blossom Grille offers a whole variety of freshly prepared meals and a lovely selection of drinks too. You can also choose from a variety of boxed dinners if you do not come with your picnic box/basket.
The Blossom music centre encourages family participation, and thus is very affordable. The Cleveland Orchestra offers free tickets to young people under age 18. You can also save up to $100 by purchasing Lawn Ticket Books. You can also pack your picnic, to reduce expenses. Parking is basically free for the free parking lot. A little extra may be paid to use the premium car park if the free park gets filled.
